This February at H-Kore we are putting mental health in the spotlight. We know the importance mental health has on the ability to live a full and content life, and our busy lives can often become overwhelming, particularly at this time of year as everyone gets back into the full swing of work and life after Chinese New Year.

We are pleased to support Move it for Mental Health campaign 2020, which seeks to encourage all Hongkong-ers to work out for their physical and mental well-being.

We invite you to join the following classes in our Quarry Bay studio where we will be raising awareness and funds for Mind HK’s ‘Move it for Mental Health’ month (all proceeds donated). The drop in rate for each class is $50.

Mental and physical health are closely linked. Activity spurs the release of proteins that cause nerve cells to grow and make new connections—improving brain function. The result? It can make you feel better.

However, more than half of people in Hong Kong do not achieve the recommended amount of daily exercise. We want to support you and jumpstart improving your health in the New Year!

Join the challenge and work out for 30 minutes every day in February (Feb 1 - Feb 29 2020). Get moving by taking your favourite classes at H-Kore, walking, hiking, dancing, etc for your mental health. Do what you most enjoy!

Do you have questions about your exercise regime and how to balance it, or are you unsure about certain moves? Our trainers at H-Kore are always happy to help, just catch them before or after the class at our studio. We’re here for you.

In addition to daily exercise, we encourage you to do a digital reset this month.

Time spent immersed in an alternate digital world is not time spent living in the present, and it seems we have let it get out of control.

So let’s have a reset! This month’s challenge is to reduce your phone/ digital time. Perhaps that is one or two hours daily where you make an active decision to put your phone away, or turn it off.

But what will you do with all that spare time? Pick up a book from our ‘Bookswap shelf’ available at both studios. Choose your book, return it when you are done or swap it for another one. There have been some great new additions recently.

Reading helps reduce stress levels by 68% and is proven to be one of the best ways to help your brain and body relax.
