Lagree Fitness: The Workout You HAVe Been Looking For
If you have ever seen a workout machine that looks like a sleek, futuristic rowing machine or a "beefed-up" Pilates reformer, you are looking at the Megaformer for our MegaKore series classes —the heart of Lagree Fitness.
The simplest way to describe Lagree? It is a "High-Intensity, Low-Impact" workout. It gives you the heart-pumping, muscle-burning results of lifting heavy weights or doing cross-training, but it is incredibly kind to your joints.
"Wait, Is This not Just Pilates?"
It is a common question! While Lagree uses a moving carriage and springs (similar to Pilates), the vibe and the results are totally different.
Pilates is like a physical therapy-inspired "tune-up." It focuses on posture, breath, and core stability. You’ll feel lengthened and refreshed.
Lagree is a "power-up." It is a full-body strength and cardio workout. You will sweat, your muscles will shake, and you will leave feeling exhausted in the best way possible.
The 3 Secrets of Lagree
1. Time Under Tension (TUT) In a gym, you might do 10 reps in 30 seconds. In Lagree, one rep takes 20 seconds.
The Goal: By moving at a "glacial pace" (4–8 counts), we eliminate momentum.
The Result: This creates the "Lagree Shake"—the moment your muscles are forced to adapt, strengthen, and sculpt.
2. Variable Tension (The Springs) Unlike traditional weights that stay the same, our Megaformer uses springs that get heavier as they stretch.
The Goal: To mimic your body’s natural strength, increasing resistance as you move.
The Result: You get a high-intensity workout that builds maximum strength without putting "peak" stress on your joints.
3. The Natural Corset (Deep Core) Most workouts focus on the "six-pack" muscles. Lagree targets the Transverse Abdominis (TVA)—the deepest layer of muscle.
The Goal: The moving carriage forces your body to fight for balance in every single move.
The Result: This pulls the waistline in and provides massive support for your spine and posture.

The Story behind H-Kore
As two good friends who moved to Hong Kong at a similar time, we wanted to bring the friendly community vibes of a boutique studio to Central, and we opened our first studio in 2013. Our mutual love of Lagree Fitness, yoga and innovative workout techniques gave us the perfect starting point to create a program of classes that ticked all three elements of effective, efficient training; to strengthen, stretch and sweat using high intensity training with low impact moves.
2019 was an exciting year with the opening of our beautiful Quarry Bay location and we were overwhelmed with the support from our community. We feel incredibly lucky to have a fantastic H-Kore team of trainers and front desk staff, who are always smiling, caring and helpful, and to have made so many new friends in the people who come through our doors.
